Total Woman instructors are the best of the best!  Each with their own degree of education, certification, experience and personality.  They will will advise you of proper technique, class modification if needed, all the while keeping you motivated so you will get the most benefit from your work-out.

Leigh Pozas

I am  owner/operator, trainer and instructor at TW FitZone.  I have 25 years of experience in the health and fitness business having been certified by many organizations such as American Council on Exercise and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, as well as being certified as a Nutritional Counselor by American Association of Nutrition Counselors. I have taught everything from Spin, Body Pump, Step, Flow, Combat, Water Exercise, Sculpting, Circuit, GRAVITY, Boot Camps, and Running Training as well as private and semi-private training.  I am certified by ACE, AFAA, and ACSM. My mission is to make fitness fun and being healthy a habit.

I am the Fitness Director at TW FitZone, and I have been teaching Les Mills group fitness programs for 8 years. I'm certified in Bodycombat, Bodypump, Bodyflow, and Bodystep. Group Fitness is where my passion for fitness really caught fire. I look forward to every single one of my classes and I especially enjoy when new participants attend the class. I love watching them get hooked after one class, it happens nearly every time! I consider my work out my favorite part of the day, and I want to help people of all ages make fitness a part of their lifestyle. I'm also a wife and mother of 3 boys (ages 5,3, and 1) staying fit and active is an absolute MUST.

I've lived in bakersfield most of my life.  I've been an AAFA certified aerobics instructor for 22 years and I am currently the Club & Group Fitness Manager. Additionally I'm a Les Mills  instructor certified in BODYPUMP in since 1999, Advanced BODYPUMP in 2010, BODYSTEP in 2003, Group Groove/ SH'BAM in 2010 and CXWORKS in 2012.  Certified Gravity group instructor (Total Gym) since 2006.  I love helping  people  reach their fitness goals. When I am in class with all of these woman, I'm home, they are my family, and I can't imagine doing anything else.

have been a certified personal trainer (NASM) since 2005. My mission is to encourage and inspire others. My personal training is focused on people with physical limitations. I developed and facilitate an exercise program for people with physical limitations called Move to Improve. The program has been going strong since 2006. My group fitness training is focused on people that encouraging "push" they need to do things they never thought they could do. My passion is teaching Les Mills BODYPUMP. I have been teaching BODYPUMP since 2007 and became an ELITE BODYPUMP instructor in 2016. I have been a certified Gravity Group (Total Gym) instructor since 2006. Gravity pilates and mat pilates certified in 2010 and also hold a certification in CXWORX. I teach several semi private Gravity classes each week to clients of all fitness levels.  
 

Fitness has been a part of my life since I was a young child. Gymnastics, dance, track and cheer leading were my everyday activities until I was 18 years old. So it was natural for me to become a fitness instructor at that time. I have been teaching strength classes, stretching, cardio, spin and yoga classes since 1981. I have been a certified (AFAA) personal trainer since 1991. I was certified as a Gravity Instructor and Gravity personal trainer in 2006. I train clients from ages 12 to 85. Running boot camps is also something I enjoy doing at the gym. I truly believe that it is never too late to get healthy and strong!

I have been a Les Mills certified physical fitness Instructor for 10 years. The sweat, smiles, determination and perseverance are the results of gratitude in my job. I love helping people to live a healthier lifestyle. I love what I do!

I have a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology from California University of Pennsylvania, with an empahsis in Corporte Wellness. I hold certifications through the NSCA  as a CSCS (certified strength and conditioing specialsist), NASM as a PES (performance enhancement specialist) and  I am  a certified yoga instructor. I have been in the health and fitness industry for 12 years and really enjoy helping others reach their highest level of fitness. I have worked with athletes, seniors, post rehabilitaion, weight management, pulmonary and cardiac patients, as well as pre and post natal clients.  I have also directed a youth summer camp through  Betty Ann Ong- a non profit organization that educates children about nutrition and fitness. I have been at Total Woman for 6 years training and teaching Spin and Gravity classes.

I am a certified Gravity Instructor and an avid exercise and fitness enthusiast.  I have been a member with Total Woman since 1996 and have been an Instructor there for the last year. I am married Mother of three - so I realize the value of excerise and healthy eating to keep my body Strong and energy level high for myself and my family.

I love working at TW FitZone! This is why...I grew up here in Bakersfield, and with our notoriously "warm" summers I was on swim team at 5 and a half years old all the way through J. C. I had caught the fitness bug very early on and thrived in that environment. I learned discipline, team work, and courage. Ten years ago I had a grand mal seizure and stroke. I attribute my recovery to family, faith, and TW FitZone. My life revolves around TW FitZone and the support I receive is unmatched. I am a certifed Gravity, Gravity Pilates, water aerobics, and personal trainer. I love, love, love my clients, members, and staff at TW FitZone and look forward to each and every day I'm blessed to serve them! It's really not a "job"-it's a joy!

Personal trainer and instructor of aerobics and fitness ranging from optimal health to sports enhancement. My mission is to help each client successfully reach their requested goals.

 

After pursuing and attaining many fitness certifications just to mention a few- AFFA, Appex, IDEA, Health and Strength etc. Currently I have worked in the fitness industry forty years plus. I am honored (Blessed) to help so many  individuals (dear friends) live a more productive healthy lifestyle.

I have been a fitness instructor for over 14 years and have worked at TW FitZone for 12 of these years.  I am ACE Certified, and have my Les Mills certifications in Body Pump, Body Step, Body Flow, and RPM (Spin).  To put it simply; I love to exercise, and to change people's lives.  That is what fitness does; it changes lives.  My true goal when I teach a fitness class is to have fun, to motivate, and to inspire members.  I want the members to feel like they have accomplished something for themselves and to walk away feeling happier, healthier, and stronger.  I can truly can say from my heart that I love what I do and working at TW FitZone helps me to do this!

Becky Ricketts

I've taught spin classes for over 12 years in Texas and Louisiana. Now I am enjoying teaching spin at TW FitZone!  I'm also a TRX instructor and NASM certified personal trainer. I enjoy helping women achieve their fitness goals, whether it's toning, losing that last 10 lbs., improving a 5k race time, or lifting a grandchild without back pain. I enjoy partnering with members to make their personal fitness goals a reality through a safe and challenging program. We work hard but have fun along the way!  My interests include outdoor cycling, nutrition, Bible study, running with my husband and visiting our kids in Texas and Missouri.

Faith Paca

When I was 18 years old I became a Certified Zumba Instructor in 2014.  My passion for dancing and teaching Zumba helped me create a fun environment in my classes.  As an instructor I am glad to see women enjoy a class filled with music and to see them work hard towards their fitness goals.  My first priority as a Zumba instructor is to show that fitness can be fun even if its just dancing.  

Michaela Sims

As a certified Les Mills Body Combat Instructor since 2012, I have enjoyed pushing myself and others physically, mentally and emotionally.  Each class is an opportunity for us to grow stronger, fitter and happier.  My previous fitness experience includes swimming and diving, as well as tennis and dance.  I also enjoy running and any workout that produces a challenge.  In October 2015, I competed in the 2016 Teen, Miss and Mrs. Bakersfield Pageant.  Not only was I blessed to win the title of Mrs. Bakersfield 2016, I also won the Mrs. Fitness award.

Kim Hall

Preparing to turn the big “50”, wanting to lose weight and tone up, I knew that I needed to not only change my eating habits, but make a lifestyle change. Jumping into a different type of fitness…which was a challenge but way too difficult, I came to try Total Woman. I became a member a little over a year ago and I absolutely love it here. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. Immediately falling in love with Spin, I became a Certified Instructor. As an instructor my goal is to help other women achieve their fitness goals in any way possible.

Nicola Wright

I spent my first 25 years in Vancouver, BC and had a lot of opportunity for “outside” activities so I was able to stay fairly active. When I moved to Bakersfield in 2002 I found myself mostly inside with my young kids and very becoming increasingly more inactive. In 2007 I discovered group exercise and developed a passion for fitness and healthy eating. Since then I have been unstoppable. I am excited to be part of the TW family now. Spin and Fitzone will be my focus areas but I have been teaching Turbo Kick, Piyo, plus various weight lifting and cardio classes for over 6 years. A big key to staying on track with your fitness is developing a great support system and continuing to learn more so you can find what works best for your ever changing body. TW and the great instructors offer all the tools to help with this!
