CINNAMON – this is another medicinal powerhouse. It is used in the treatment of arthritis, asthma, cancer, diarrhea, fever, heart problems, insomnia, menstrual problems, digestive function, peptic ulcers and spastic muscles, joint and muscle pain; reduce blood sugar and bad cholesterol. It contains anthocyanins that improve capillary function. It is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.
Cinnamon functions as a carminative which literally means “gas reliever”. It is also antimicrobial which makes it help stop the growth of bacteria and fungi, including candida (the overgrowth of yeast believed to be responsible for a host of problems with the body) and H. Pylori. It also relieves nausea due to the catechin compounds.
It is rich in calcium, manganese, fiber and iron, good for bones, heart and energy. Spice up your dishes with cinnamon.
